These Terms of Service apply to purchases, browsing, local pickup, events, and other interactions with Wild At Home through our Shopify storefront. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these terms and to our applicable policies, including our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Shipping and Local Pickup Policy, and Return and Refund Policy.

Products, availability, and plant condition

We specialize in rare tropical plants, plant-care supplies, growing accessories, local events, and related products. Live plants are living, variable items. Size, leaf count, variegation, colour, growth habit, root development, and minor cosmetic marks can vary from photos and descriptions. We do our best to describe products honestly and clearly, but product availability is limited and may change quickly.

Orders and payment

All orders are offers to purchase and are subject to acceptance, availability, fraud review, payment authorization, and operational limits. We may refuse or cancel an order, limit quantities, correct obvious errors, or contact you for more information. If we cancel an order after payment has been captured, we will issue an appropriate refund through the original payment method where possible.

Pricing and taxes

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices, promotions, taxes, pickup options, delivery options, and product availability may change without notice. Taxes and any applicable fees are calculated at checkout.

Local pickup, shipping, and weather holds

Local pickup is a core part of the Wild At Home experience. Pickup timing, weather holds, packaging, unclaimed orders, and any available delivery or shipping options are governed by our Shipping and Local Pickup Policy. Because live plants can be affected by temperature and handling, we may delay fulfillment during unsafe weather or contact you to arrange a better handoff.

Returns, refunds, and live plants

Returns and refunds are governed by our Return and Refund Policy. Live plants and perishable plant material require careful inspection at pickup or immediately on delivery. Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable consumer rights that may apply under Ontario or Canadian law.

Plant-care information

Care notes, cabinet-growing tips, substrate suggestions, humidity guidance, and other plant-care information are provided for general educational purposes. They are not a guarantee that any plant will thrive in every home, cabinet, substrate, season, or care routine. You are responsible for providing appropriate care after the plant is in your possession.

Events and workshops

Event details, capacity, timing, cancellation rules, and materials may vary by event. If we need to reschedule or cancel an event, we will contact registered participants using the information provided at checkout or registration.

Customer content and communications

If you send reviews, photos, questions, testimonials, or other content to Wild At Home, you confirm that you have the right to send it and that it is accurate, lawful, and respectful. You give us permission to use content you submit to respond to you, provide support, operate the store, and, where appropriate, share customer feedback or plant photos with credit or context.

Website use

You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with checkout or security, attempt unauthorized access, scrape the site in a way that harms service, submit false information, or use the website for unlawful purposes.

Intellectual property

The Wild At Home name, logo, branding, copy, page layouts, photography, graphics, product descriptions, and other website materials are owned by Wild At Home or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or commercially use them without written permission, except as allowed by law.

Third-party services

The website uses Shopify and may link to or integrate with third-party services such as payment, shipping, analytics, email, social, or event tools. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services that we do not control.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wild At Home is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by plant care conditions after pickup or delivery, third-party services, internet outages, or misuse of products. Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability will be limited to the amount paid for the affected product or service, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Indemnity

You agree to be responsible for losses, claims, costs, or expenses arising from your misuse of the website, violation of these terms, unlawful conduct, or infringement of another person's rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute will be handled in Ontario, unless applicable consumer protection law gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies when you use the website or place an order.
