Begonia Rouge Variegated

Some plants draw you in with the little details. Begonia Rouge Variegated brings rounded leaves, softly contrasting variegation and touches of red to a collection. Choose the individual whose pattern feels most at home among your favourites.

Begonia ‘Rouge’ Variegated is a foliage begonia with rounded leaves, irregular green and cream markings and red colouring around the point where the leaf meets its stem. Its creeping rhizome gives it a low, spreading habit, while the balance of colour varies naturally between leaves and plants.

Plant Overview

• Plant type: Rhizomatous foliage begonia with a low, spreading habit.
• Growth habit: Forms a leafy clump as its rhizome spreads along the growing mix.
• Foliage: Rounded leaves with green and cream variegation and red accents. Each plant develops its own pattern.

Plant Care Guide

• Light: Give bright, filtered light and protect the foliage from strong direct sun.
• Watering: Water as the upper layer of the growing mix dries, while the mix below remains lightly moist. Let excess water drain away; avoid soggy conditions.
• Humidity: Prefers extra humidity with gentle airflow. Keep the leaves and crown from staying wet.
• Growing mix: Choose a fine, airy mix that retains some moisture and drains well; coco coir or a suitable potting mix with perlite is one option.
• Temperature: Keep in a comfortably warm room, away from cold windows and drafts.
